    • Established the cardiac surgery unit(part of medanta) at Delhi Heart Institute, Bathinda (Punjab) in 2007, successfully conducting approximately 100 procedures in a year.
    • Started the programme of minimally invasive techniques in cardiac surgery and repair of aortic dissection (aneurysm) at Asian Inst of Medical Sciences.
    • Have carried out more than 2000 heart surgeries including:
    • Bypass surgery (off & on pump),
    • Valve surgery (repair/ replacement)
    • Aortic root surgery for aneurysm & dissection (Bentalls’ operation)
    • Minimally invasive cardiac surgery (MICS) for MVR, AVR, ASD closure)
    • To develop minimally invasive CABG
    • Surgical therapy for heart failure (LVAD, heart transplant)

  • Board member of institutional quality control, infection control and blood transfusion committee.
  • Attended annual national meeting of Indian Cardiothoracic Association & presented papers on the following topics:
    • Aortic valve replacement in poor left ventricular function
    • Repair of post myocardial infarction ventricular septal defect
    • Mitral valve repair in ischemic cardiomyopathy
    • Surgical ventricular remodeling for post myocardial infarction anteroseptal dyskinesia
